FLOCO: Reflecting on the First Year and Looking Forward to the Future

A Message from our CEO: As the holiday season draws near, we are reminded of the incredible journey we embarked on this past year. With Christmas quickly approaching and the end of our first year at FLOCO, it is a perfect time to express our gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead.

In this spirit, I want to send warm wishes to everyone — from our dedicated fans to our talented artists and amazing staff. May you all have a Merry Christmas and a joyful New Year as we welcome 2025 together!

When I first stepped into the world of music and publishing, I honestly felt overwhelmed. I had never run a record label or worked directly with musicians, and the challenges ahead seemed substantial. My wife and I embarked on this adventure with both trepidation and hope.

Our initial vision was clear yet ambitious: to create a platform where artists could truly thrive. What we didn't expect were the numerous challenges that lay in our path, including unexpected setbacks that tested our determination.

The early days at FLOCO were filled with obstacles that pushed us to our limits. We faced a variety of issues, such as artistic tensions, talented individuals who were yearning for recognition, and even the risk of being blacklisted by other distributors. For instance, we encountered several cases where talented artists faced heavy EU-based censorship due to refusing to compromise or mince their words. We struggled with outdated recording equipment that hindered our efforts (and still do today). The complexity of contractual obligations we faced often felt insurmountable.

Yet, despite these hurdles, we remained resolute. We knew that with creativity and persistence, we could turn these challenges into opportunities for growth.

Rather than letting these setbacks discourage us, we rolled up our sleeves and dove into negotiation. Finding innovative solutions became our guiding principle. For example, instead of investing heavily in new recording equipment, we approached local freelance up-and-coming professionals, establishing partnerships where these talented pros could help us record music and in return, get the recognition to advance further in their careers.

Drawing from my experience as a former Disney Imagineer Intern, I envisioned constructing a vibrant creative space. We began developing meaningful relationships with artists and collaborators while keeping costs manageable. This collaborative spirit has been pivotal in our success so far.

As we stand on the brink of a new year, I feel immense pride in what FLOCO has achieved in just part of one year. Our goal of creating a supportive environment for artists is well underway, and a vibrant community is forming around us.

Our commitment to storytelling, whether through music, literature, or art, has started to flourish. Thanks to the unwavering support from fans who have helped amplify our message, I am confident that FLOCO’s best days are still ahead.

Within the past year alone, we have increased our fan base by over 50%, proving that our effort to connect with our audience is bearing fruit.

So on this special day, I want to take a moment to express my deep gratitude. To my family, our dedicated staff, talented musicians, and all our fans—thank you for your kindness and unwavering support.

Your encouragement has been invaluable as we navigate this creative journey. While the road has not always been easy, the compassion from our community lifts us. As we reflect on our journey, I truly believe that every step we have taken has been guided by a greater purpose.

Luke 2:11 reminds us, "For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord." As we gather with our loved ones this Christmas, let us celebrate the meaning behind these words.

Let us cherish both our personal victories and professional milestones, recognizing the blessings life has given us. The successes and trials we have experienced are due to the Lord's good graces and we should never forget that.

As we enter the new year, the possibilities for FLOCO are boundless. Our second year promises exciting projects and collaborations.

We plan to enhance our creative offerings and finally develop the ideas and narratives we have had on our minds for so long. For example, we want to introduce a new series of collaborative musical projects that bring together diverse artists to create unique sounds and stories.

With a lot of hard work, ambition, creativity, and luck, 2025 has the potential to transform not just our company but everyone involved in our creative journey.

As Christmas bells sound and the new year approaches, let us celebrate new adventures, growth, and the strength of creativity. I hope you all have inspirations in your life that encourage you to strive for greatness, just as my family and staff inspire me.
